Dr. Mahir Bhagat, DPT

Move better. Get stronger. Build a body that lasts.

I'm a Doctor of Physical Therapy based in Los Angeles. I help people keep training for the next thirty years, not just get through the next twelve weeks.

Not injured? This is still for you

Most people find a physical therapist after something breaks.

That's the expensive way to do it. What keeps you training at fifty is the same work that gets you out of pain at thirty: range of motion you actually own, tissue that tolerates load, and a plan built around what you do all week rather than what a protocol says you should.

So I don't treat only the part that hurts. I look at how the whole body moves and works together, because the thing limiting you is usually not the thing that's sore. Getting out of pain is the floor. The goal is that you leave understanding your own body well enough to keep going without me.

Background

I grew up in Zimbabwe, where sport was most of my life.

I competed in cricket, squash and field hockey at the national level. That's where this started, not in a textbook. It's where I learned what a body can be trained to do, and what happens when it isn't looked after.

I studied Health and Human Sciences at Loyola Marymount University, then earned my Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of Southern California.

Who I work with
